Joan Watson-Jones grew up in New York City - close to show business but never a part of it. Before settling, her mother had been a dancer and boxer at the 1920.s Moulin Rouge, Paris. http://www.youtube.com/user/momworeboxingtrunks . As a physician, her father had such famous patients as Billie Holiday and Mercer Ellington and was co-founder of the ground breaking, Upper Manhattan Medical Group in Harlem.
Joan’s credits starts with two CD’s , ’I Thought About You’ , a collection of songs from the Great American Songbook, and “ One More Year” which features a few original songs as well as The Songbook standards.
Watson-Jones is a swinging singer who has a sultry way of expressing herself in the grand tradition of the Jazz Vocalist.
